Nandamuri and Nara families: Today holds special significance for fans of the renowned yesteryear actor and former Chief Minister of the former Andhra Pradesh state, Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, as the nation commemorates his 100th birth anniversary. In a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi this morning, the Indian government paid tribute to Sr. NTR by unveiling a commemorative Rs 100 coin. The honor of revealing this distinctive coin was bestowed upon President Draupadi Murmu.

A poignant moment was captured in a photograph that captured the presence of the Nandamuri and Nara families during the coin launch event. Distinguished members from both families graced the occasion and posed alongside the esteemed President. Notable figures such as NTR’s son-in-law and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu; NTR’s sons, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Nandamuri Ramakrishna; his daughter, Daggubati Purandeswari; and various other family members can be seen in the photograph.

Crafted with a diameter of 44 mm, the commemorative Rs 100 coin is composed of 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel, and 5% zinc. The coin showcases the Ashoka Chakra on one side, while the other side features a portrait of NT Ramarao accompanied by the inscription “Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Satajayanti” in Hindi. The years 1923-2023 are inscribed on the coin, symbolizing the centenary celebrations of NTR’s birth.
